“On behalf of the children and staff at Ashton West End Primary School I would like to thank you and the students for an enjoyable and educational day.The children had a wonderful day not only from their involvement in the activities but the opportunity which they had to meet the students and to learn about the different countries and experience something about their culture.”

Mr Micah Cummings, Headteacher, Ashton West End Primary School

“We were all extremely impressed with the whole day. The children learnt so much from your fantastic students and came away positively “buzzing” about our visitors. Many of them discussed the day in great detail with their parents, which of course generated even more interest! Staff felt the day was of great value in teaching the children about different cultures, all in one place at the same time! The relaxed atmosphere made the whole experience a real pleasure for everyone involved. We wish you every success with this brilliant project and hope to enjoy another visit from you before too long.”

Ms Julie West, Assistant Headteacher, Russell Scott Primary School

"One of the BEST visitors I have seen as a teacher. The children were enthralled and engaged. They learnt so much in a short time. Thank you!"

Teacher, Gorsey Bank Primary School

“It created experiences for the children which the National Curriculum does not allow them to have. It has been fantastic that they can talk to people from other countries and speak to them about their experiences - creating an understanding of a diverse world and its importance in society today.”

Teacher, Middleton

“To rocket world. I had a fantastic time. I loved the big world that was really cool. Thank you.”

“Me and my parents don’t like foreigners.”

Primary School Pupil

“Thank you all very much for the wonderful day we had yesterday. All the children learnt so much and had a brilliant day.”

Frances Templeton, Teacher, St. Pius X Preparatory School

“I felt so excited when we walked in the hall and saw that enormous globe. I listened to your instructions and could not wait to get started. I could not wait to see what was going to happen next. When I knew what was going to happen I couldn’t hold it in I was about to burst into pieces. I didn’t even know which one to go in Japan, Mexico, China, Cameroon and so on but the thing that I know is that each of them were brilliant.”

Kaeynaat, Pupil

“I had fun and I liked it. I got to speak to them and ask questions not just be told what to do. It was great.”

Pupil, Middleton

“Thank you very much for the wonderful multi-cultural activity you provided at school on Monday. RocketWorld is a fantastic concept which our children thoroughly enjoyed and were engrossed in. Every child was focussed and motivated to glean as much information as possible from each country. Many thanks to your lovely volunteers - they made the world come alive for our children - these countries (including lesser known ones such as Kyrgyzstan) are now “real” places. I hope that we will be able to repeat this fantastic learning opportunity again in the future.”

Jacqui Wild, Year 4 Teacher, Ashdene Primary School

“The time I spent with rocketworld as volunteer was really fun and exciting for me. Besides sharing my knowledge about my home country to the kids, I also could meet up with other volunteers from different nationalities.”

Ryan, Indonesian Volunteer

“I am really glad that I had the opportunity to take part in RocketWorld and go to the Red Lane Primary School. It gave me a valuable experience to visit a British primary school and introduce my country to local students. I will never forget this experience which will be an indelible memory for me.”

Xi Chen, Chinese Volunteer

“This has most definitely been a once in a life time mission: to make the world spin again. I also enjoyed learning about countries that I never knew existed up to now. I hope a lot of people enjoyed it as much as I did and I am so grateful you came.”

Francesca, Pupil

“I thought the Canadian girl showed and told the best things, so many compliments to her. I also enjoyed and looked at the Indonesian display, the German display, the Palestine display and the Latvian display. I’m really sad that I didn’t get to look at all the other wonderful countries. I was fascinated by the original objects that the people had brought along; sometimes I forget that there are more countries in the world than just England because the furthest I’ve been is Bulgaria.”

Hope, Pupil

“I really enjoyed myself in the mission. It is the best decision I made here. Communicating with all the volunteers broadened my view. The lovely and friendly children made me believe that the world is actually one family and what I did is just to strengthen the ribbon between family members. Thank you for giving me such wonderful experience. I would like to join more activities like this in the future.”

Jiang, Chinese Volunteer

“This is incredible project. I enjoyed it a lot. I would like to say that it was a great and valuable experience for me as well as for the children.  The children had a lot of fun and were very active and keen to take part in different kind of activities. They were very impressed and amazed to learn how people in other countries - greet each other, dress, spend leisure time and celebrate traditional holidays. It is very useful project for children as they get to know about other countries cultures, traditions and customs.”

“I really enjoyed this valuable volunteer experience and this will definitely become my special memory of my life in UK. The kids are so cute and friendly, they also bring the energy and happiness to me. In the end, a little girl came to me, and said "Thank you" in a gentle voice. Through her crystal eyes, I knew what I had done may mean a lot in the future, and I accomplished the mission of bringing Chinese culture to different parts of the world.”

Chen, Chinese Volunteer

“The atmosphere was superb and all the children were truly engaged and interested. All of the little activities were lovely and the children came away with some great 'souvenirs' of their 'travels'! The volunteers had a lovely way with the children and put them at ease as well as getting them interested.”

“RocketWorld is BOSS!”

Pupil, Liverpool

“The best day I've ever had at school.”

Pupil, Greenbank Preparatory School, Cheadle Hulme

“I enjoyed very much participating in the RocketWorld project. It was very nice to spend time with the children and to answer their questions about my country (Mexico). I also met other volunteers from different countries. I will definitely continue participating in the future!”

Yolanda, Mexican Volunteer

“I think that RocketWorld mission is a very ambitious and innovative project. I'm happy I took part in it because it gave me the chance to give the children a 'little part' of my country and leave a positive image of Italy to them. We talked about their dreams and what they'd like to do in the future and whether they fancy the idea of travelling and learning other languages. I find very interesting the way children think about cultures different from their own and this experience showed to me how clever and intuitive they are. I think everyone should take part in it, at least once. This is a very good way to promote good values, international co-operation an peace. When you finish, you realise you have met new people, had a chat with the next generation and spent a nice as well as educational day in good company!”

Francesca, Italian Volunteer

“ Soooper! Great for children to get first hand knowledge on all aspects of culture, from several less 'touristy' countries they may never have visited... an ideal way to 'pop' our Wilmslow bubble!”

Teacher, Wilmslow

“The children were so lovely! I really enjoyed being part of the Rocket World Mission. I learned a lot about other cultures and about mine as well. It was a wonderful day and even if I was very tired at the end of the day, I want to take part again because I had such a gorgeous experience! Thank you for making it possible to visit primary schools and have a lot of fun with the kids!  :-)”

Lea, German Volunteer

“I really had good time with the children, they are lovely! It was one of the most amazing days I spent in UK. I believe that learning about different cultures, could create a better world. Thank you for make this possible.”

"Thank you very much for the opportunity of rocket world in this summer. The three times of volunteer experience have offered me a valuable chance to contact with children and to understand the cross-cultural and cross national issues. It has broaden my horizen and improved my skills of communication at the same time. The most important thing is that the 'thank you' from all the children gives me a feeling of self-fulfillment and confidence."
